Super Thin E-paper Developed by University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge is developing the super thin paper with plastic logic, which has the capacity to hold hundreds of separate newspapers.

It is done by using plastic microchips instead of silicon in order to feel like a very thin tablet of plastic. It comes with a high resolution monochrome (not confirmed it won’t have colour, seems unlikely as of yet) and weighs about the same as a magazine. It is around 8.5″ x 11″ in size and will support all of the industry document formats. such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Download Free Google Chrome Open Source Web Browser (Chromium)

Google Chrome, with open source name of Chromium, is the latest foray by Google into the ‘not-so-crowded’ (considering billions of Internet surfers with just couple of popular browsers), but competitive web browser market. The most popular web browsers currently available include Internet Explorer from Microsoft, Firefox from Mozilla and Safari from Apple.

Google Blog has officially announced the Google Chrome yesterday, with link to a comic book to introduce Google Chrome (kind of teaser trailer). Luckily, users do not need to wait too long for the final (ops, it’s actually beta, as with most initial product launches by Google). Google is officially releasing Google Chrome Beta for free download by everybody. The news has also been announced on Google Blog.

Latest release by Intel

Intel has officially named its upcoming Nahelem processor as Core i7 under Intel Core family. This next generation processor, a successor of the Core 2 Duo series, will be based on a totally new Intel microarchitecture with native quad-core on a single die and further enhanced with Intel Hyper-threading Technology targeted for high end desktop and server markets.

Bharti to bring iPhone 3G to India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Bharti Airtel today announced that it would launch the I-phone 3G in India on August 22.

According to the company, the I-phone 3G combines all the revolutionary features of iPhone plus 3G networking that is twice as fast.

It provides built-in GPS for expanded location-based mobile services, and iPhone 2.0 software which includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs hundreds of third party applications available through the new App Store, said a press release.

“iPhone has been the iconic technology revelation of this year,” said Sanjay Kapoor, president of mobile services at Bharti Airtel.

“Airtel has been at the forefront of innovation and customer delight in the Indian telecom sector. Introducing iPhone 3G to India further underscores our commitment to enrich the communication experience of all Airtel users.”

Customers will be able to purchase iPhone 3G at Airtel Relationship Centers, the a press release said.

After a long wait iPhone 3G is finally getting launched in India, country’s leading mobile operator Airtel announced the iPhone India launch date to 22 August 2008 (Yahoo News), Unconfirmed reports are also coming stating Vodafone launching the same on 18 August 2008, there is no announcement regarding the pricing structure but industry experts are expecting price to be anywhere from Rs. 15000/- to Rs. 23000/-.
